More Scorcher Info

CAPTAINS!

First, thanks to all of you, we are having the best turnout in Scorcher history!  I’ve attached a flyer that includes important information for you and your teams.

This link will take you to a map of everything that you will need. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=101644942439582922231.00047272db5c15f13c1bb&ll=43.631851,-116.317062&spn=0.195564,0.445976&z=12

FIELDS:

Fields are at our lovely Ann Morrison Park. It’s best to park on the west side of the park, from the Americana blvd entrance. Beer is fine in cans. If you can, please bring your own reusable cups for keg beer. That will help on plastic cup waste, and we can focus on using those cups for suzie sticks. Please no bottles! We will also have recycle bins placed in various places around the park, please help us in putting all paper and plastics in these recycle bins. Oh and dogs on leashes, please. Boise’s finest will not hesitate in slapping a nice $75 off-leash ticket in your hands, which DOES NOT go back into off leash dog parks in Boise.

CAPTAINS MEETING:

Time – TBD. Location – under the clock tower.

WEATHER REPORT:

This might be the first year that temperatures will not be a scorching 100 degrees for our beloved Scorcher. Looking like high 70s and low 80s. But sunny all weekend.

TOURNEY FEE:

If you’re one of the first 3 teams to send in your tourney fee, you get a special treat. J Believe me, it’s worth it.

FRIDAY NIGHT meet and Greet:

Owen’s party house. There will be a keg there. If you get there early, there’s also a little swimming pool and I’m sure there will be a game of suzie sticks going. Please be kind to the house, it was nice of her to offer her house to us. Location and address are on the map and flyer.

SATURDAY DINNER:

Burritos at the fields. There will be veggie, chicken and carne asada burritos.

SATURDAY NIGHT PARTY:

Dutch goose is a restaurant/bar. Minors are welcome until the kitchen closes. Kegs on the patio is the tournament beer.

SUNDAY NIGHT PARTY:

Steve Alsup’s house. There will be a keg there. Please be kind to his house! Location and address are on the map and flyer

SHOWERS:

As of right now, there is no longer a charge for showers! YAY!

This year we have 13 teams:
Missoula
Bozeman
DogFight – Portland
Moon Posse – Seattle
Devastator – SLC
Insult – Spokane/CDA

Huckfest Info

We can camp Friday and Saturday night in Whitefish:

The tournament party will be on Saturday
evening starting shortly after the games end.
Dinner will be served along with
plenty of beer. We hope to recycle as much
as possible so look for the appropriate
container for any trash you may have.

The party will be held at 2655 East Lakeshore
Drive (directions below). Please carpool
if possible and park along the shoulder
of the road when you get here. (There’s
only room up the drive for a few vehicles.)
There will be live music at the party as
well as a cups court and a bonfire to enjoy
(conditions permitting). Friendly dogs are
more than welcome.

The party will be within walking distance
of Les Mason Park on Whitefish Lake. You can
relax and swim there at least until sunset.
It’s free for Montana residents but otherwise
costs $3 a person. There’s also a hot tub
at the house.

And you’re welcome to camp out around
the place after the party, as well as
on Friday night.

Directions – From the fields, head back to town.
At the red light, turn left onto Baker Avenue
towards Big Mountain. ~2 miles out of town, instead
of turning up the hill at the flashing light, go
straight onto East Lakeshore Drive. The house is
at 2655 East Lakeshore, on the right, ~1.5 miles
after the Big Mountain turn. The number is on
the mailbox which is at the bottom of the driveway.
As noted above, please don’t come up the drive.
Park on either shoulder of the road. The phone

2nd Annual Flatball Rodeo!

Captains: This is the captains meeting. Games will begin promptly at 9:00am and will be
time capped, so please plan on being to your assigned field on time and ready to play.

Contact numbers are 208-691-4728 (Stacey) or 208-215-9146 (Trina) if you need anything.

Remember: drinking is fun, getting belligerently drunk is not. Help yourself and your teammates be responsible drinkers. We will be staying at someone’s private residence and do not want to lose this privilege because someone is drunk and out of control. We have tasers and we aren’t afraid to use them (just kidding). Directions to camping from the fields are:

Get back onto Honeysuckle and head towards US-95
Turn right at US-95 N and head north for about 11 miles
Turn left at E Brunner Rd (you will see Silverwood Amusement Park on your left)
